Learning Python
I have started to learn python. Had started Perl also, read a book on it. Wrote few scripts, but was drawn towards Python. Everybody says its a simple language to learn. I was always fascinated by OOP. I had started to learn it way back, but with no luck. I had written a small program in JAVA for my final year project ( which I still have to complete). But it was also more like a copy paste.
So I think that Python will be best way to learn OOP.
I have started reading the book - "How to Think Like a Computer Scientist - Learning with Python"
by Allen Downey, Jeffrey Elkner and Chris Meyers. Completed 6 chapters. Starting to like Python. I had also explored the Google App Engine. Made the guestbook app :). Really liked the concept. That also motivated me to learn Python. For some time I was fighting between Perl and Python. I couldn't decide. I am still trying Python.
Lets see what happens ....
